The content of the workshop was excellent

Joe was excellent, really engaging and interactive and he worked well with all the students. The content of the workshop was excellent, it included really practical ways of revising and remembering information and key facts. A number of the students have said how useful they found the workshop and they feel it will really help with their revision.

Great value for money in comparison to what else is out there

We thought the day was excellent and great value for money in comparison to what else is out there. Rob was a fantastic trainer who engaged with the students and, even though he had only just met them, seamlessly understood their needs and engaged with them effortlessly. The materials and ideas presented to the students were well packaged and will prove highly useful for the year groups' revision strategies. We look forward to working with you in the future.

I really can’t praise him highly enough.

The feedback was excellent from the students and especially the parents. James was an absolute star throughout the day, even dealing with the technical conundrum when the power went! I hope he got home OK!? The students today have been discussing it in PD and it has proved a valuable starting point in getting them thinking forward and to their exams and one we can keep referencing. I really can't praise him highly enough. I've copied an email form a parent below so you can get a sample of feedback but there was a lot of verbal praise too last night.

Rob was brilliant and the delivery was excellent

The girls have really enjoyed the sessions; Rob was brilliant and the delivery was excellent. The verbal feedback I have had from the pupils has been very positive and they now have a lot more ideas about revision techniques which may work for them; it will be interesting to see the impact report from yourselves. All in all, a very positive start to Year 11! Many thanks for all your help with setting this up!

He delivered the sessions in such a fun way

We were delighted to be able to run the 2 workshops to fairly small groups of our year 10 Next Steps targeted students today. The trainer, James Sherwood was lively, engaging and really approachable. He delivered the session in such a fun way; the students were focussed and I loved the way they all eventually went away with pens and highlighters to help motivate further study. The workshop media used and worksheet were good quality – I liked the layout of the sheet with the different tasks to complete. It was great to have a different person – not their usual teachers, to tell the students that they do need to study hard to achieve success and get them to think about how to make study more effective and use their time wisely – e.g. by prioritising tasks while still having a work flow to the day with breaks. As the audience were targeted students by Next Steps, many of whom qualify for the Pupil Premium due to deprivation, I thought the section exploring the potential barriers and distractions to their study present at home worked really well. As a Science teacher, I enjoyed the examples based on biology and chemistry and the session did keep their attention for the whole 2 hours. Many thanks to Next Steps South West for facilitating these sessions and to James for the excellent workshops. Thanks again – we would never have had funding available for this if it wasn’t for Next Steps!

Strategies which will make their revision far more effective

I would like to just feedback on the revision session which happened yesterday with our year 11s. Firstly, the quality of the resources were excellent: engaging and purposeful. The idea of sending students away with their own pen and highlighter also worked well - they love having little gifts like this! The content of the session was pitched exactly right for our students, all of them walked out of the session with at least a couple more ideas and strategies to apply to their own independent learning, strategies which will make their revision far more effective. Lastly, and in my opinion most importantly, the trainer (Rob Snell) was fantastic. From start to finish he engaged all of the students through his delivery of the material and his passion for these revision strategies. It is always difficult at this time of year convincing class teachers to let year 11 miss some of their curriculum time, but I have feedback to all of them this morning how useful this was.

Year 11 students feel more confident they know “how” to revise

Once again Sander proved very engaging and pitched each of the student, staff and parental workshops perfectly. Our Year 11 students feel more confident they know "how" to revise and have evidenced improvement in the quality of their revision material. Parents who attended reported feeling more confident they understand what effective revision looks like at home and teaching staff have increased the range of strategies they are able to integrate into their lessons. Most valuable, thank you!!

I have been so impressed with the content and delivery of this session

Exams MADE Easy was an excellent workshop. Each key revision strategy was explored in an interactive and collaborative format. Students received instant feedback to show how much they could now recall after each task and the effectiveness of each technique meant that they all experienced success and gained confidence. Joe was a super trainer and students found it really useful. I am extremely grateful that you shared your time, expertise and enthusiasm with them. Another great programme from MADE! I have been so impressed with the content and delivery of this session and 'The Lighthouse'! [delivered previously]. I attended the Parents’ session at Oxstalls campus with the GROWS team yesterday evening and it too was excellent. Often this type of event in a school is in the form of a talk which isn’t as interactive, engaging or as likely to facilitate discussions and changes to their study environment at home. I do hope that we might be able to host one at St Peter’s in the future if we are able to book the Exams Made Easy workshop again. I highly recommend this workshop!

Exams MADE easy? Most definitely!

It was brilliant - who would have thought two hours focusing on exam preparation could be so enjoyable! It was fun, focused and fast paced. The students were engaged from beginning to end and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive. They have left school this afternoon with a wealth of strategies and techniques that will help them face the challenges of the weeks and months ahead. Exams MADE easy? Most definitely! Thanks for everything.

In the times of shrinking school budgets, it was money well spent.

As usual, the students really engaged with the sessions run by Joe. Student feedback was very positive about the techniques Joe demonstrated. For the first time we booked the parents session and again feedback was excellent. I would have no hesitation in booking Made Training again and in the times of shrinking school budgets, it was money well spent. Thanks again for an outstanding day.
