If only you could reach every school in the land!

What was so inspiring about Sander's approach to learning, was that he was challenging the 'learned helplessness' so many students hold in this run up to exams. Especially, if they believe their efforts will have little effect on the level they find themselves at now - having come to the end of 11 years in education! However, Sander turned that all on its head today by completely changing this mindset! By simply assuring them that by the end of the session they WILL memorise a vast set of information in a short amount of time, he started to sew the first seeds of a new found confidence in their own ability. He backed that up with several memory strategies and POW! the entire room was alive throwing the information back at him. Varying the tone and sound of his delivery and more importantly nurturing that new found confidence with positivity, encouragement, value and fun, he had every student engaged. By the end of the session he had proved and had them believe, that if they can learn this new way to focus, not only these forthcoming exams but all future learning is now well within their reach! If only you could reach every school in the land! So impressed!

Year 11 students feel more confident they know “how” to revise

Once again Sander proved very engaging and pitched each of the student, staff and parental workshops perfectly. Our Year 11 students feel more confident they know "how" to revise and have evidenced improvement in the quality of their revision material. Parents who attended reported feeling more confident they understand what effective revision looks like at home and teaching staff have increased the range of strategies they are able to integrate into their lessons. Most valuable, thank you!!

Exams MADE easy? Most definitely!

It was brilliant - who would have thought two hours focusing on exam preparation could be so enjoyable! It was fun, focused and fast paced. The students were engaged from beginning to end and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive. They have left school this afternoon with a wealth of strategies and techniques that will help them face the challenges of the weeks and months ahead. Exams MADE easy? Most definitely! Thanks for everything.

Students who are often hard to motivate all came out buzzing!

Crookhorn College welcomed back Sander for their Year 8 study skills day which was another fantastic day where our students were picking up skills needed for revising. Crookhorn has worked with MADE for the last 4 years and have a rolling programme where each year group have a designated day when they look at the best ways for them to study. Our students all know MADE and Sander now and look forward to the sessions, which is great for us! During the day, we chose some year 11 students who had a motivational power hour session, designed to boost their confidence going into the academic year. This was brilliant and our students who are often hard to motivate all came out buzzing. Two of them even punched their way through a piece of wood but I will let MADE explain that one!!
