Nicci was very warm, welcoming and enthusiastic about the content she delivered

Nicci was very warm, welcoming and enthusiastic about the content she delivered during the MADE training for some of our Year 9 and 10 students on working through and setting their Goals and Aspirations. She welcomed questions and had prizes for everyone that volunteered answers which kept students engaged throughout. It was a pleasure to see her speak to our students as she had examples from her life and others to show students the end results of putting what she was teaching them into practice. I've since passed on some of the booklets to my colleagues as I genuinely believe the content is very suitable for everyone including teachers! And I hope to use them myself as soon as possible. -

Great value for money in comparison to what else is out there

We thought the day was excellent and great value for money in comparison to what else is out there. Rob was a fantastic trainer who engaged with the students and, even though he had only just met them, seamlessly understood their needs and engaged with them effortlessly. The materials and ideas presented to the students were well packaged and will prove highly useful for the year groups' revision strategies. We look forward to working with you in the future.

I really can’t praise him highly enough.

The feedback was excellent from the students and especially the parents. James was an absolute star throughout the day, even dealing with the technical conundrum when the power went! I hope he got home OK!? The students today have been discussing it in PD and it has proved a valuable starting point in getting them thinking forward and to their exams and one we can keep referencing. I really can't praise him highly enough. I've copied an email form a parent below so you can get a sample of feedback but there was a lot of verbal praise too last night.

The teachers with the group really enjoyed it and were furiously taking notes!

Joe delivered an excellent session - everyone enjoyed it and found it useful. The teachers with the group really enjoyed it and were furiously taking notes! It was a hard to engage group of lads and Joe was brilliant at keeping them focused on the session. The revision techniques he delivered were excellent and were aimed at the right level for the group. What Joe managed to get the group taking part in throughout the session was truly amazing and inspiring. The motivational aspect was great and very much needed for the group - something that we weren't quite aware of when we booked you but I feel that the questions that Joe was asking the group really got through to some of them. Please pass on our thanks to Joe - it was a difficult, though lovely, group to work with and he did amazingly. Looking forward to working with you again in the future.

Some saying it’s the best talk they’ve ever had

We had James deliver the ‘goals and aspirations’ workshop today at Callywith College. It was pitched so perfectly it’s like he got into my brain or something. It was exactly what we were after. Today's theme at college was all about aiming high and believing in yourself and his talk fitted this perfectly. We’ve had a whole week of events and James was by far the best bit of the week. Staff and students have said it’s the best talk they’ve been to all year with some saying it’s the best talk they’ve ever had. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

So many staff have said how fantastic the training was!

That feedback report is great. I had a great day too and so many staff have said how fantastic the training was! Many have already been to see me to tell me how they have been implementing some of the ideas Joe gave them. There was a real buzz among students/parents too on the day. Thank you

Year 11 students feel more confident they know “how” to revise

Once again Sander proved very engaging and pitched each of the student, staff and parental workshops perfectly. Our Year 11 students feel more confident they know "how" to revise and have evidenced improvement in the quality of their revision material. Parents who attended reported feeling more confident they understand what effective revision looks like at home and teaching staff have increased the range of strategies they are able to integrate into their lessons. Most valuable, thank you!!

How to become 21st century learners

12th February 2018 - Once again a different group of Year 11 pupils attended a MADE revision workshop held at Lawn Manor Academy from 9.45am till 2pm. The training was inspirational for pupils! The techniques used were vital for our pupils to understand how to become 21st century learners. Some of the comments included: “Our pupils thought the workshop was really fun! The facilitator provided us with really useful exam preparation strategies to create cue cards, number sequences and memory palace was. We learnt a variety of revision techniques”. “I was happy as I was interested in what I learnt today” . Impressive as this is the first day of the holidays! Thank you to MADE who ran the training and to Study Higher who helped organise and fund the event. Our pupils really appreciated it and had lots of fun! 111 pupils in total attended this workshop either in Oct or February. We are grateful for Study Higher who paid for these events and pizza very much appreciated!

It’s been the topic of conversation today!!

A fabulous day! The students and staff found it very informative; it’s been the topic of conversation today!! The students certainly had an opportunity to reflect on their current practices and learn lots of new strategies to hopefully help them get their GCSE results. Thanks to Joe (and his very impressive memory number rhyme!)
