Case study – Longfield Academy, Kent

Courses – Exams made Easy, the Challenge

    Year groups – 12, 13

Maria Willis asked MADE to work with the entire sixth form at Longfield Academy. The school is a stunning new build and the facilities are fantastic. The behaviour, dress and manner of the students was impeccable and our trainer thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The day was a great success and subsequently, MADE has been back to work with subsequent sixth form groups.

“We had an excellent day.  The trainer from MADE was very engaging. He kept both groups of students focused and enthused throughout the sessions.  Several of the students spoke to us after the event saying how they had enjoyed it and taken on board the messages.  Everyone took part in the visualisation exercises which generated a lot of interest.  The content was exactly right as I have been encouraging them to be more independent learners.  For the Y12 students the step up to ‘A levels’ is demanding, particularly on their own study time. Many will have been successful at GCSE thanks to their innate intelligence and pressure from their teachers with extra revision and re-sits of exam modules. Many do not really know how to study.  The session on Friday made them think about their own responsibility to ensure success, and the future possibilities for them.  The students completed their ‘lighthouse’ sheets and these are wonderful to keep and refer to.  A few were quite touching where students with many difficulties had planned a way forward with their lives.  Many thanks to MADE.”
